Description
This sensational red from Sardinia features fresh notes on one hand and savoury notes on the other. Two extremes providing the structure for a well-balanced flavour with assertive sharp tannins keeping the progression intriguing with its plunge into fruitiness.
The aroma is dominated by rich bouquet of red and black berries, including raspberries, blackcurrant and blackberries. And floral notes of violets and herbal notes of mint.

Winery Profile:
The wine industry in the traditional Sulcis zone of Sardinia began in 1932. The Lower Sulcis, along the coastal belt in the Valley of Porto Pino (where MESA is located), is characterized by the presence of numerous vineyards, some of them over a hundred years old and composed of ungrafted vines planted in the typical sandy soil.
Here the influence of the sea has a significant impact on the climate, mitigating the heat of summer in the southernmost part of the Sulcis zone. The marine breezes refresh the vines and the salty air guarantees the freshness and vivacity of the grape’s flavors, favoring its delicious, easy-drinking style. Also, the winds in this region play an important role in preventing fungal diseases deriving from the humidity, thus ensuring the cultivation of healthy, high-quality grapes.
Mesa is situated in the area of Sant’Anna Arresi, on the slopes of a valley sheltered from the northwesterly winds and surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.
Its more well-trodden side is covered by low scrubland of rosemary and cistus plants. Rare maritime flowers peek out from the cliffs. Each grape breathes in an atmosphere of sunny, balmy peace. It overlooks the plain of “medaus” (little country villages, typical of the Sulcis zone) and the inlet of the promontory of Porto Pino.
Mesa’s vineyards extend for more than 78 hectares. Using only organic fertilizers and without the use of insecticides and herbicides, Mesa uses only sustainable practises for production of wines.

Can my wine be left if I’m not home?
Yes! However if someone else is accepting the delivery for you, they must be over 18 years of age. Bottega Italia cannot deliver wines to anyone less than 18 years of age. If there is any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, our delivery drivers are obliged to request some form of photographic ID. If that recipient is unable to produce appropriate ID then the delivery driver will be unable to leave the wine.
If nobody will be at home, then just make sure when placing your order that you give us explicit instructions that it’s ok to leave the delivery. With "Authority to Leave" deliveries, our couriers will leave the wine in a safe place, where possible at the delivery address. If that’s not possible, the driver will leave a card to advise that the delivery has been will be directed to the nearest Parcel Connect agent.
By providing us with an "Authority To Leave" instruction when placing your order, then you authorise the courier to leave the goods unattended at the delivery address and you accept that once the courier has done so, the complete order has been received.
Can my order be delivered to a P.O. Box?
Generally yes, although Australia Post has occasionally rejected deliveries to P.O. Boxes. We will contact you if your delivery to a P.O. Box is rejected by Australia Post.
Refunds and Returns:
The following policy sets out how Bottega Italia and its related entities (DS Italia) manages customer refunds.
■ Breakages
If you receive a case of wine with broken bottles, you must take pictures of the case & bottles, then contact us within 2 working days of the date of delivery. Once we have received your claim we will work towards issuing you with an account credit equal to the price paid by you for the broken bottles.
Please note that risk of damage, loss or deterioration to product passes to the buyer upon delivery and therefore no refunds or account credits are offered for products that are damaged after you have accepted the delivery.
■ Refund Process
If you would like to submit a claim, simply email us with your pictures: bottega.italia@outlook.com
Typically we strive to have all refunds or account credits processed within 3-5 working days of your notification to us.
■ Exceptions
If we reasonably believe that a buyer is abusing our Refund Policy, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel the Refund in relation to that buyer, cancel any pending orders and/or close that buyer's account.
■ Manufacturer's liability
Subject to any rights you may have under any law, if an item purchased by you with an accompanying manufacturer’s warranty, Bottega Italia can take no responsibility for the content, fulfilment or enforcement of that manufacturer’s warranty. It is your responsibility to contact the relevant manufacturer in relation to all questions and claims relating to the manufacturer’s warranty.
Other than in the circumstances outlined above in Refund Policy and Breakages policy, no returns will be accepted and no refunds will be made in respect of purchases you make via the Bottega Italia Website.
