Description

We tasted. We loved it. Excellent value!

Intense red colour with sumptuous aromas of ripe fruit and cherries accompany intense spicy notes, reminiscent of cinnamon, licorice and roasted coffee.

The taste is opulent, even decadent, with fig and black currents combined with spiced chocolate and vanilla ending with a lasting finish. Powerful and warm, with refined and round tannins.

Drink now through to 2032. Uncork and let it breathe in the bottle for a good 90 minutes to enhance the aromas before drinking.

Aged in a combination of French and Slavonian oak barrels for 2.5 years.

Further aged for 6 months in bottle.

Harvest / Vintage: 2011

Varietals: Corvina 70%, Corvinone 20%. Rondinella 10%

Area of Production: Venice region

Serve at 16° C to 18° C

Winemaker Profile:

For 4 generations the Cottini family has been cultivating a knowledge that has solid roots. The wine history of the Cottini family begins in the second decade of the 1900s. It was in fact 1925 when Carlo Cottini founded the first family farm. In these years, in addition to the vineyard, the company also cultivated other types of fruit such as cherries, plums, apricots and olives. In addition, he raised cattle.

The second and third generation made the important leap towards viticulture, specializing in the production of wine. Raffaello (son of Carlo) builds his cellar in Fumane, in Valpolicella, where the family has its roots. In 1965 he bought the Caprino Veronese estate, where the cellar where we are today stands. Diego Cottini continues the family tradition by purchasing new land in Valpolicella Orientale and in Lugana, bringing the company to international markets and making it the important reality it is today.

Can my wine be left if I’m not home?

Yes! However if someone else is accepting the delivery for you, they must be over 18 years of age. Bottega Italia cannot deliver wines to anyone less than 18 years of age. If there is any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, our delivery drivers are obliged to request some form of photographic ID. If that recipient is unable to produce appropriate ID then the delivery driver will be unable to leave the wine.

If nobody will be at home, then just make sure when placing your order that you give us explicit instructions that it’s ok to leave the delivery. With "Authority to Leave" deliveries, our couriers will leave the wine in a safe place, where possible at the delivery address. If that’s not possible, the driver will leave a card to advise that the delivery has been will be directed to the nearest Parcel Connect agent.

By providing us with an "Authority To Leave" instruction when placing your order, then you authorise the courier to leave the goods unattended at the delivery address and you accept that once the courier has done so, the complete order has been received.

Can my order be delivered to a P.O. Box?

Unfortunately, we can only deliver to a physical address. We cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. address.
