Description
This 2012 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva from Villa Al Corte Riserva Villa al Cortile showcases the most elevated expression of the estate’s pursuit of quality. Villa al Cortile Riserva is made from the top of the vintage barrel selections, chosen for their excellence and because they reflect the unique characteristics of the varietal and the vineyards where they were grown.
Concentrated and dense, with notes of dark plums, dried raspberry, tobacco and leather. The wine offers a bright garnet colour with power and fine tannins on the finish.
Aged for 36 months in French oak casks and a further 2 years in the bottle prior to release.
Serve at 18 °C
Pour at least 60 minutes before drinking and let it breathe.

Winemaking:
The clusters are hand-picked in 15 Kilo opened bins to ensure no berries are broken. Maceration on the skins undergoes at controlled temperature in small stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 7 to maximum 10 days. Gentle pressing, to provide for purity of flavours and support development of complex aromas, follows small lot processing and fermentations. Once the skins are removed, young wine is racked several times to remove the solids. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally.

Brunello is the quintessential wine of Villa al Cortile estate as it is the exemplification of their strong belief that Sangiovese and its dedicated territory, Montalcino, share a unique bond.
Villa al Cortile, farm estate in Montalcino owned by the Piccini family, stands on the southern side of the Brunello di Montalcino production area, extending for about 12 hectares of vineyards.
Since 1882, the Piccini family has been developing Italian wine through the senses and excellences of it's territory.
The history and the land of Piccini family, its Middle Ages villages as San Giminiano, Castellina and Siena, clustered behind massive stone defensive walls. Now, with an annual production of over 16 million bottles, Piccini wines are found on the tables of more than 80 countries around the world.

Can my wine be left if I’m not home?
Yes! However if someone else is accepting the delivery for you, they must be over 18 years of age. Bottega Italia cannot deliver wines to anyone less than 18 years of age. If there is any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, our delivery drivers are obliged to request some form of photographic ID. If that recipient is unable to produce appropriate ID then the delivery driver will be unable to leave the wine.
If nobody will be at home, then just make sure when placing your order that you give us explicit instructions that it’s ok to leave the delivery. With "Authority to Leave" deliveries, our couriers will leave the wine in a safe place, where possible at the delivery address. If that’s not possible, the driver will leave a card to advise that the delivery has been will be directed to the nearest Parcel Connect agent.
By providing us with an "Authority To Leave" instruction when placing your order, then you authorise the courier to leave the goods unattended at the delivery address and you accept that once the courier has done so, the complete order has been received.
Can my order be delivered to a P.O. Box?
Unfortunately, we can only deliver to a physical address. We cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. address.
