Description
This classic of the Abruzzo tradition - which owes its name to its characteristic cherry-red colour - is a rosé wine made from 100% Montepulciano grapes vinified in white, with 12 hours of maceration on the skins. Tasty and fresh, it strikes for its intense aromas of fresh cherries, hints of black cherry and pomegranate. Gastronomic wine par excellence, this wonderful Montepulciano easily matches with meat and fish dishes, pasta with tomato sauce and vegetables and is perfect with pizza, fried food and tempura.
Fermentation at controlled temperature, left on the fine lees for 3 months until bottling.

Winery Notes:
MASCIARELLI Tenute Agricole was established in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli. The beating heart of the winery is in San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the province of Chieti, and includes vineyards and olive groves, in all 4 provinces of Abruzzo.
Gemma Villa is the company's flagship line. It expresses Masciarelli's stylistic research and continuous experimentation more than any other. The three wines that compose it are produced from vineyards between 200 and 450 meters above sea level on the hills around Chieti, which slope from the Maiella to the Adriatic. These two elements profoundly influence the microclimate of the vineyards, ventilating the grapes and generating wide temperature variations. The soil is characterized by a medium calcareous mix and underground watercourses that provide water reserves to the vineyards and contribute to the rich biodiversity of the area.
In the constant and renewed work for innovation, but with respect for the environment and tradition, Masciarelli inaugurated, after a long restoration, Castello di Semivicoli, a seventeenth-century baronial mansion, which is now a Relais de Charme in the vineyards, a driving force of wine tourism in the area.

Can my wine be left if I’m not home?
Yes! However if someone else is accepting the delivery for you, they must be over 18 years of age. Bottega Italia cannot deliver wines to anyone less than 18 years of age. If there is any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, our delivery drivers are obliged to request some form of photographic ID. If that recipient is unable to produce appropriate ID then the delivery driver will be unable to leave the wine.
If nobody will be at home, then just make sure when placing your order that you give us explicit instructions that it’s ok to leave the delivery. With "Authority to Leave" deliveries, our couriers will leave the wine in a safe place, where possible at the delivery address. If that’s not possible, the driver will leave a card to advise that the delivery has been will be directed to the nearest Parcel Connect agent.
By providing us with an "Authority To Leave" instruction when placing your order, then you authorise the courier to leave the goods unattended at the delivery address and you accept that once the courier has done so, the complete order has been received.
Can my order be delivered to a P.O. Box?
Unfortunately, we can only deliver to a physical address. We cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. address.
